Our Story
Our story through Eric
It began as a workplace friendship then working out with one another, followed by hanging out with other coworkers after work. As time went on we ended up spending more and more time together. Watching the Timbers soccer games, playing disc golf and exploring everything Portland has to offer. It was soon after this that we started living together in an apartment complex down on the SW waterfront of Portland along with my orange tabby cat Leo. We spent as much time as we could getting outside and even doing small trips together to my hometown of Yreka, San Diego and everywhere in between. Our love for traveling to sporting events and being outdoors was quickly halted by the CoVID pandemic. Living in a 600 sq.ft. apartment and not being able to go anywhere we truly made the most of it. Whether it was just going for a walk on the waterfront or exploring a new winery with Colleen's parents, we spent almost every waking moment together. After the lockdown I was prepared to purchase a condo and continue to solidify our relationship and make the next step of creating a life with Colleen. As our relationship grew over these past five years I knew that I was ready to take the next step and ask her to be my wife. It was less than 48 hours before anyone knew I had purchased her engagement ring and was ready to ask her to marry me. It was an amazing moment at a very special place to Colleen. We were walking on the beach outside of Long Beach, Washington with our new rottweiler puppy Sierra when I asked her to be my wife. Surrounded by her family and the July 4th fireworks it will be a memory I will forever cherish.
Our story through Colleen
I noticed Eric while I was interning at his current work place in 2018. There was something about him that caught my eye but with him being constantly busy and focusing on his work I knew I would have to try a little harder to get his attention. It started with a few conversations that led to workouts together, and then finally some after work drinks. We found a big common interest in our love for sports, it was a Timbers soccer game that helped jumpstart our relationship. Since then, we have continued to enjoy our time cheering on our favorite teams, going on walks, playing frisbee golf and checking out all the Brewfests/Breweries Portland has to offer (Eric's plan for getting me to become a beer drinker...it worked). We soon moved in together into Eric's loft apartment on the Waterfront with his little cat Leo. Leo was definitely a little jealous to begin with and let that be known but we eventually became friends. All of our adventures soon came to stop with CoVID hitting and we had to alter the way we lived. We set up facetimes games with our friends, went for so many walks and eventually started exploring wineries with my parents. We truly made the most of it and spent literally all of our time together. Our lives have changed throughout the years and I have been grateful for every second of it. 2021 was full of adventures and cherished times with our friends and family. In 2022 Eric bought a Condo out in Beaverton that we moved into and we were able to explore a whole new area together. In 2023 we got Sierra, our wild but loving rottweiler, followed by the biggest surprise of my life with Eric proposing to me in one of my favorite places, Long Beach, WA. He caught me so off guard that I truly don't remember what he said to me. All I knew was that he was on one knee with a little box in his hand, and it was a quick yes for me.
